Trans Neptunian Objects is an audio/visual performance, drawing inspiration on space and sea exploration narratives. Sea and space, both symbolizing the unknown and the mysterious, have become driving forces of expanding our knowledge and activities beyond the known and familiar. The piece is split into three parts, representing the violent journey of the explorer with the epic and celebratory moments when achieving the impossible. The visuals are blending the concepts of deep-sea and space using the planet of Neptune as the central object. The blue planet comes to life by projecting hallucinations of an AI system (Generative Adversarial Networks) trained to imitate microscope images of organisms. Jellyfish and whales orbiting the planet create the impression of deep-sea scenery.
